Joyce is one of seven children.  In 2016 Joyce, her siblings and mother sadly lost their father, leaving her under the care of her mother who has been taking care of Joyce and her siblings.  Her older sister Hellen is also being supported by the charity.

The family lives in a three roomed permanent house with iron sheet roofing. They lack a proper pit latrine and shower, they bathe behind the house. The family draw their water from a nearby community water spring

The family lacks enough farm land for farming though they do have a small piece where they use for kitchen garden.

Joyce loves to play jump rope with her friends, she also likes to read, story telling and also to sing. At school her favourite subjects are art and science. She helps at home with chores and carrying water.

What sponsorship means

The moment you start to support one of our children at St Irene’s or Noah’s Ark we instantly work on building that bond between you and your sponsored child. We’ll send you a Welcome Pack the moment your sponsorship begins and you will receive three updates throughout the year from us about your child – a home visit report, birthday update and a handwritten letter/drawing from your sponsored child.

We allocate the different sponsorship amounts you generously pledge according to the type of support needed by the children in our care. Your donation will help towards the costs of education, food security, health, psychosocial support, income generating activities and so much more!
