Daniel and his sister come from a humble background where his parents struggle to provide for their children. Both parents engage in casual work, but securing stable employment is a significant challenge.
Currently, Daniel lives with his father after his mother left in 2024. This has made supporting the family increasingly difficult. The family resides in a two-roomed mud house with minimal furnishings which are in poor condition. The children do not have sufficient clothing and shoes, often wearing old and torn garments.
The family practices subsistence farming on their one-acre plot, mainly growing maize and beans during the rainy season. Due to a lack of proper farming inputs the yield is very low making it difficult to live off of.
