Emmanuel is a bright and determined young boy with big dreams. He is the third of five siblings, but life hasn’t been easy for him. After his father passed away from typhoid, his mother left home to find work, leaving Emmanuel and his siblings in the care of their elderly grandmother.

They live in a small grass-thatched house that offers little protection from the elements, often leaking during heavy rains. There are no proper beds or clothing, and while the family grows food on their small farm, it isn’t enough to sustain them year-round.

Despite these challenges, Emmanuel is full of hope. At home, he helps with daily chores—fetching water, caring for animals, and washing clothes. At school, he enjoys languages and science, and has a passion for art and reading. In the future Emmanuel aspires to be an engineer.

What sponsorship means

The moment you start to support one of our children at St Irene’s or Noah’s Ark we instantly work on building that bond between you and your sponsored child. We’ll send you a Welcome Pack the moment your sponsorship begins and you will receive three updates throughout the year from us about your child – a home visit report, birthday update and a handwritten letter/drawing from your sponsored child.

We allocate the different sponsorship amounts you generously pledge according to the type of support needed by the children in our care. Your donation will help towards the costs of education, food security, health, psychosocial support, income generating activities and so much more!
