Esau is a bright and determined boy and full of ambition. After losing his father to cardio-respiratory failure, life has been tough for Esau and his twin brother, Jacob. Their mother does casual labour to support them, but this is challenging. They now live with their grandmother, who works tirelessly farming and selling omena (small fish) at the local market to provide for her five grandchildren.

Despite these challenges, Esau is full of hope and potential. He is a hardworking student who enjoys mathematics and science, and he dreams of becoming a doctor so he can give back to his community. Outside the classroom, he enjoys riding bicycles, playing volleyball, and going on runs with his friends.
