Farina

  • Date of birth: 12/08/2019
  • Support needed: Up to £35.00 a month i

Farina is a twin and has two siblings. She lives with her mother and great-grandmother after her parents separated due to conflict. Her father is not currently supporting the family so Farina’s mother works hard washing clothes to provide for the family. She earns 300 shillings (approx £1.79) each day which is not enough to meet the needs of the family.

The family lives in a two-roomed house, roofed with iron sheets. Farina and her siblings sleep on a heap of old clothes, with only one old blanket to share. This lack of proper bedding exposes them to the cold and the risk of illness. The family does not have access to medical insurance meaning they can only access over-the-counter medication if they are unwell.

Can you help Farina and her family?

What sponsorship means

The moment you start to support one of our children at St Irene’s or Noah’s Ark we instantly work on building that bond between you and your sponsored child. We’ll send you a Welcome Pack the moment your sponsorship begins and you will receive three updates throughout the year from us about your child – a home visit report, birthday update and a handwritten letter/drawing from your sponsored child.

We allocate the different sponsorship amounts you generously pledge according to the type of support needed by the children in our care. Your donation will help towards the costs of education, food security, health, psychosocial support, income generating activities and so much more!
