Imran has six siblings and is in a family with significant educational and socio-economic challenges. Neither of his parents completed their education; his father dropped out in grade 6, and his mother in grade 8.
Imran’s father works as a boda-boda rider, but his work is not always consistent. Imran’s mother does casual labour when she can but her main focus is caring for the children at home.
The family resides in a one-roomed house with a roof made of iron sheets that are corroded, likely due to smoke exposure. Imran and his siblings sleep on a mat, with no proper bedding. They use old clothes as covers and have no blankets, which exposes them to the cold.
Imran hasn’t has the opportunity to attend education up until now but he has shown a strong desire to learn and is eager to begin his educational journey.
