Nancy is the seventh-born child and has eight siblings. Unfortunately one of her siblings has passed away. Nancy’s parents both dropped out of school so did not get a full education. Her father works as a casual labourer and her mother is a housewife. None of the children have attended school until now due to financial constraints.

The family lives in a one room mud hut which is in poor condition. The house lacks privacy, and leaks when it rains. They own approximately a quarter-acre of land, where they practice small-scale farming to provide some food for the family. The family relies on their neighbour’s borehole for water.

Nancy and her family are able to access healthcare at an affordable rate. They also sometimes use the GMK Medical Centre when they are unwell.

Nancy is looking forward to starting school at St. Irene’s. Can you help Nancy and her family?

What sponsorship means

The moment you start to support one of our children at St Irene’s or Noah’s Ark we instantly work on building that bond between you and your sponsored child. We’ll send you a Welcome Pack the moment your sponsorship begins and you will receive three updates throughout the year from us about your child – a home visit report, birthday update and a handwritten letter/drawing from your sponsored child.

We allocate the different sponsorship amounts you generously pledge according to the type of support needed by the children in our care. Your donation will help towards the costs of education, food security, health, psychosocial support, income generating activities and so much more!
