Nuru is the last born and has four siblings. He comes from a vulnerable family where both parents struggle to earn a living through casual labour. This results in the family facing financial challenges and the children not always having everything they need.
The family live in a modest two roomed mud house with an iron sheet roof. The house is vulnerable to the elements so they regularly smear the walls for protection. At the moment, the family also do not have access to health insurance which means they cannot afford regular healthcare.
Nuru is excited to be starting at St. Irene’s in 2025. He is a polite and reserved child who prefers to observe at first, before becoming more chatty as he grows in confidence.
