Bridgit’s Story
Bridgit Okutoyi Nambwaya has been a Nasio beneficiary since 2007. She’s a partial orphan living with her mother at Bukaya Itenje, western Kenya.
The Nasio Trust has sponsored her education throughout her life, first at Milimani primary school where she performed well in her exams with a score of 360/500, and then at St. Mary’s Girls Mumias (which is one of the best schools in Kenya) for her secondary education. She was a highliy engaged learner in school and maintained her good performance with a mean grade of B in her final secondary level exams.
On leaving education, Bridgit decided to pursue her passion for nursing and turn it into a career.
She has since volunteered at our GMK medical centre and St. Irene’s Early Development Centre, whilst awaiting her university placement. She is now studying her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology having started her course at the end of Summer 2022.
She is passionate in nursing and keen to become an asset to the community.
