Success Story: Ibrahim Mboka

We are proud to share with you a short successful story of Ibraham Mboka who is a Nasio Trust supported child.

Ibrahim joined St. Irene (baby class) at the age of seven years. The late joining to school was due to insufficient funds for the family to be able to pay for him to go to school. Ibrahim was very very sad to see his friends go to school while he was left at home. He thought he would never ever have access to education. Now Ibrahim is supported by The Nasio Trust and has access education and is very very happy about it and hopes to become a pilot in future.

Ibrahim and his brother were malnourished at the time they joined our Early Childhood Development Centre. Staff were quick to place both boys on a special diet program. This is a type of program where malnourished children are provided with spirulina and a balanced diet food to enable them to recover. Last month both Ibrahim and his brother Andrew Okuku were removed from the special diet program after confirmation by the doctor that they were both in good health!

Ibrahim’s family home was in a very bad condition which would allow rainfall to drain in. The Nasio Trust built a new house for the family, to which they are extremely grateful.

Unfortunately Ibrahim’s father is blind and has also been undergoing TB treatment for the last 2 years. His mother works a casual labourer and is the breadwinner for the family.

Nasio Tust has….

  • Built a house for the family
  • Provided education for Ibrahim and his brother
  • Provided special diet program to both Ibrahim and his brother.
  • These are the things that our organisation has succeeded to do, hence changing the family situation.

The story has been made successfully by Ciaran Smith and Rajab Kweyu.
