Haithan lives with his parents and three siblings. For work, his father repairs shoes for just 100 shillings a day (£0.60) while his mother takes on casual jobs when she can. But with no stable income, the family fights to survive.

Haithan and his siblings sleep on old clothes, with no proper bedding. With no bathroom or latrine, they must bathe outside at night which leaves them vulnerable. The family has no access to clean water or medical care and Haithan suffers from a painful skin condition that remains untreated due to financial struggles. On many days, there’s no food, making it difficult for the children to concentrate in school.
