Bakari is the penultimate born of five children and has three sisters and one brother.
His father works away from the family home and sends money back to his wife as often as he can, but this only amounts to around one thousand shillings a month. Bakari’s mother looks for casual jobs each morning but her physical impairment means it is hard to find jobs.
Bakari is looking forward to joining St Irene’s playgroup class as his first year of education and hopes to change his family’s life for the better.
