  • Support needed: Up to £25.00 a month i

Joytes is the first born and has two siblings. Her mother became pregnant when she was very young, which made it difficult for her to care for the children. Joytes now lives with her grandmother who also cares for seven other grandchildren whilst her mother works in the city. Joytes’ grandmother is physically challenged and she uses crutches to support her movement. This makes it difficult for her to care for her grandchildren’s daily needs.

The family lives in a three roomed semi-permanent house with an iron sheet roofing. Some parts of their house don’t have a complete walls. They have no bathroom but take a shower behind their house at night. The family practices subsistence farming where they grow vegetables, maize and beans during the rainy season.

Joytes is in Grade 2 at school. She is hardworkin and she loves singing songs with her friends and studying languages.

What sponsorship means

The moment you start to support one of our children at St Irene’s or Noah’s Ark we instantly work on building that bond between you and your sponsored child. We’ll send you a Welcome Pack the moment your sponsorship begins and you will receive three updates throughout the year from us about your child – a home visit report, birthday update and a handwritten letter/drawing from your sponsored child.

We allocate the different sponsorship amounts you generously pledge according to the type of support needed by the children in our care. Your donation will help towards the costs of education, food security, health, psychosocial support, income generating activities and so much more!
