Melvin Akwabi Shadrack

  • Date of birth: 04/12/2017
  • Support needed: None thank you! i

Melvin is the last born in a family of six children and attends St Irene’s ECDC. Her parents were unlucky as they did not attend school which has rendered them illiterate. They always rely on casual jobs to feed and support their family with basic needs which isn’t easy. Due to their low income, they are unable to provide all the basic needs for their family.

The family lives in a two roomed grass thatched house, which isn’t well ventilated and also deprives the privacy for the parents and the elderly children. Melvin and other children sleep on old clothes due to lack of beddings in one room as their parents sleep in the other room which during rainy season is used as kitchen.

Melvin also attends Sunday school every Sunday for holistic teachings and development. She is a calm and quiet girl but very shy.

What sponsorship means

The moment you start to support one of our children at St Irene’s or Noah’s Ark we instantly work on building that bond between you and your sponsored child. We’ll send you a Welcome Pack the moment your sponsorship begins and you will receive three updates throughout the year from us about your child – a home visit report, birthday update and a handwritten letter/drawing from your sponsored child.

We allocate the different sponsorship amounts you generously pledge according to the type of support needed by the children in our care. Your donation will help towards the costs of education, food security, health, psychosocial support, income generating activities and so much more!
