Seline is the only child in her family. She has been raised by her grandmother after her mother abandoned her when she was three weeks old. Seline’s mother was young when she gave birth and struggled to care for Seline on her own.
Seline’s grandmother is old and depends on small scale farming to earn a living. The family practices subsistence farming where they grow vegetables, maize and beans during the rainy season. The family lives in a three roomed mud house with an iron sheet roofing.
Seline is currently in Grade 2. She enjoys drawing and hide and seek. To help at home she supports her grandmother by collecting firewood.
