Shanisa is the last born and has three brothers and two sisters. She lives with her parents and they are a vulnerable family. Her parents did not finish their education which now makes it difficult to find work and provide the everyday essentials.

Shanisa’s father is a casual labourer and her mother owns a small piece of land where she plants her vegetables and sometimes plants maize and beans during the planting season. The family lives in a two roomed mud house with iron sheet roofing which is in poor condition.

Shanisa is in Grade 2 and is doing well in he academics. She would like to become a nurse in the future. She enjoys playing hide and seek with her friends at school.

Can you help Shanisa and her family?

What sponsorship means

The moment you start to support one of our children at St Irene’s or Noah’s Ark we instantly work on building that bond between you and your sponsored child. We’ll send you a Welcome Pack the moment your sponsorship begins and you will receive three updates throughout the year from us about your child – a home visit report, birthday update and a handwritten letter/drawing from your sponsored child.

We allocate the different sponsorship amounts you generously pledge according to the type of support needed by the children in our care. Your donation will help towards the costs of education, food security, health, psychosocial support, income generating activities and so much more!
