Zubeda is a partial orphan who lost her father when her mother was  months pregnant with her. She lives with her mother and her two other siblings who are also being supported by Nasio Trust. Her mother does casual jobs and sometimes works at Nasio Trust Guest House as a cleaner whenever visitors are around.

The family compound hygiene is good, they have a well kept compound, and the family has a pit latrine and bathroom made from mud. They live in an three roomed iron sheet roofed semi-permanent mud house. The mother has a kitchen garden where she has planted various traditional vegetables and also keeps chickens which she sometimes sells to support her family. The family uses water from a nearby spring which they use for all domestic purposes. The child sleeps in the main house with the rest of the family.

Zubeda is doing well both at home and at school. At school she likes maths and science and she also likes singing and playing with dolls. She is in a safe environment where she is loved and cared for by her family members. She is a polite and hard working girl who likes helping her mother with house chores after school.

What sponsorship means

The moment you start to support one of our children at St Irene’s or Noah’s Ark we instantly work on building that bond between you and your sponsored child. We’ll send you a Welcome Pack the moment your sponsorship begins and you will receive three updates throughout the year from us about your child – a home visit report, birthday update and a handwritten letter/drawing from your sponsored child.

We allocate the different sponsorship amounts you generously pledge according to the type of support needed by the children in our care. Your donation will help towards the costs of education, food security, health, psychosocial support, income generating activities and so much more!
