Cynthia is from a family of eight children and has a twin sister, Centrine Muyonga Francis, who is also enrolled as a Nasio beneficiary. Cynthia attends St. Irene’s ECDC and started in 2023. Two years ago her father went to Nakuru to look for a job, but since then he has never returned home and hardly helps his family. Therefore, the household depends on the mother to earn enough for a living and basic needs. Centrine’s mother struggles a lot as she only has casual jobs to feed the family. Most of the time they go without food as Centrine and her twin sister are malnourished.

The family stays in a two roomed mud house where on the roof it leaks due to old and worn iron sheets and the house is not well-ventilated.

The family owns a pit latrine but lack a bathroom which forces them to shower behind their house. They also fetch water from a nearby water point which can be used for all domestic purposes.

Cynthia is very friendly and always has a smile on her face. She is always organised and very active in class.

What sponsorship means

The moment you start to support one of our children at St Irene’s or Noah’s Ark we instantly work on building that bond between you and your sponsored child. We’ll send you a Welcome Pack the moment your sponsorship begins and you will receive three updates throughout the year from us about your child – a home visit report, birthday update and a handwritten letter/drawing from your sponsored child.

We allocate the different sponsorship amounts you generously pledge according to the type of support needed by the children in our care. Your donation will help towards the costs of education, food security, health, psychosocial support, income generating activities and so much more!
